SDSURF Human Resources Benefits Announcements For 2012 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Participants
For 2012 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Participants
- Around December 16, 2011, you may have received a welcome letter email from Discovery Benefits’ “No Reply” email address with the following subject: “Secure Discovery Benefits Online Access.” The email was legitimate and you may log-in to their secure site to register and access your FSA account activity 24/7.
- If you prefer, you may manage your FSA accounts through your smart phone. Go mobile. Take a picture of your receipt from your smart phone and send it securely to Discovery Benefits. It’s as easy as that! For more information, download here for iPhones; download here for Android users.
- By now, you should have received your FSA debit card issued by VISA through Discovery Benefits. New this year is your ability to use the debit card for both health-related and dependent daycare-related expenses. If you haven't received your debit card, contact the SDSURF Benefits Team.
- Save all receipts, even when you use the debit card. Maintaining documentation is required by the IRS. To assist you with maintaining your records, you may request a receipt folder from your SDSURF Benefits Team.
- If you need a second debit card for your spouse or domestic partner, you can request one by completing the Dependent Card Authorization Form located on the Discovery Benefits Participant Forms webpage.
- Save time and elect direct deposit to your savings or checking account for reimbursement of your submitted and eligible charges. Complete the Direct Deposit Authorization Form, found on the Discovery Benefits Participant Forms webpage and return it to Discovery Benefits or you may sign up for direct deposit of your reimbursements online through the Discovery Benefits website, www.discoverybenefits.com.
- Manage your FSA account online through www.discoverybenefits.com. All forms, including Reimbursement Request Forms may be found on the Discovery Benefits web site.
- Set up a recurring dependent day-care reimbursement. One submission and you’re done. .
