Health Insurance Reform and Your Insurance Plans for 2012

While the future of healthcare reform continues to be debated in Congress and challenged in the courts, our management team is committed to offering plans that are affordable for both employees and projects, that allow choice among plan types, HMO v. PPO, where possible, and that provide access to a wide network of providers. Each year, SDSU Research Foundation’s management team reviews medical and dental claims experience, trends, new options available in the insurance marketplace and with the help of Alliant, our benefits broker, negotiates with our healthcare providers to determine what the premium costs and benefit plan designs will be in the coming year. We have received the original new rates and with further analysis, final recommendations and decisions will be made shortly.
