Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
SDSU Research Foundation's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides evaluation and crisis intervention for regular and hourly (non-student and non-faculty) employees, their eligible dependents, and anyone who resides in the employee's household. Confidential services provided by licensed professional counselors through Horizon Health include:
- Problem assessment
- Referrals
- Brief counseling for issues such as:
- substance abuse
- relationship
- budgeting or financial problems
- stress
- parenting concerns
- web access to legal information and documents
- Legal and Financial Benefits (PDF Format, 140KB)
Employees, their eligible dependents and roommates, may use this free, confidential service at any time. To obtain services, employees may call 1-858-571-1698. Out-of-area employees may call toll-free, 1-800-342-8111. Information booklets which describe the plan are provided to employees and are available in SDSU Research Foundation's Human Resources Department.

Horizon Health now offers the HorizonCareLink Resource Center that provides information in the categories of My Family, My Health, My Time and My Money. The online resources are cost-free and include:
- Childcare / eldercare searches
- Education / tuition financing searches
- Veterinarian / pet care searches
- Health / fitness club searches
- Concierge resources
- Many other resources / services
