Defined Contribution 403(b) Retirement Plan

Benefit Description

Upon meeting eligibility criteria:

  • SDSU Research Foundation will contribute 10% of employee's salary per pay period into retirement plan
  • Contributions are immediately 100% vested
  • Employee decides how monies are invested among different investment options offered through SDSURF with TIAA-CREF

Eligibility Requirement

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Hourly, regular, and other options employees who have worked 1,000 hours in a benefit year
  • “Additional employment” employees who have worked 500 hours in a calendar year

Eligibility Date

  • For hourly, regular, and other options employees, 1st of month following the completion of 1,000 hours of service in a benefit year
  • For “additional employment” employees, 1st of the month following the completion of 500 hours in a calendar year
