How do I apply online for a job?

  1. Apply online at: SDSU Research Foundation Jobs
  2. Create a user name and password. This will enable you to come back and check the status of a position, as well as apply for additional jobs.
  3. Complete the online application.
  4. Apply your online application to a specific job opening by the closing date.
  5. Receive a confirmation number upon successful submission of your application.

How do I apply for more than one job?

Once you have completed an online application, you may apply to additional jobs by following the steps below:

  1. Use the (Search Jobs) feature to find and select a position for which you would like to apply.
  2. Click the (Apply to this job) button.
  3. Enter your user name and password to log in.
  4. Your previous application information will be displayed. Edit the application as needed.
  5. Complete the application process and receive a confirmation number upon successful submission of your application.

Can I attach a resume and/or cover letter when I apply online?

Yes, once you have completed your application and applied it to a position, you will come to the (Attach Documents) page where you can either:

  1. Attach a resume or cover letter or
  2. Copy and paste or type in a resume or cover letter

When can I make changes to my online application?

Each time you apply for a job you can edit your application for that job. However, once you SUBMIT an application for a specific job number, you can not go back and make changes to that submitted application.


How do I monitor my application status?

At any time, you can login to the SDSU Research Foundation Job Web site and view the status of positions to which you have applied. After logging in, your status page appears. From any other place in the site, you can navigate to this page by clicking on 'Application Status' in the left navigation.Once you have applied for a position and received a confirmation number, a table will appear listing the position(s) for which you have applied, the confirmation number, the date you applied, and the status of your application. You can view the application and supporting documents (if applicable) by clicking on the links in the Application and View Document boxes.


What are the different application statuses?

  • Closed Screening
    The position is closed and no longer accepting applications. The process of screening applications has begun and all applications received prior to the close date are under review. Interview candidates will be selected and interviews conducted. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted directly. This process typically takes 4-6 weeks from the date that the position was closed.
  • Position Open
    The position is currently accepting applications. All online applications must be submitted by 4:00 pm on the close date indicated on the announcement. Applications will not be screened until after the closing date.
  • Cancelled
    Positions may be cancelled due to a variety of reasons including lack of funding, department reorganization, insufficient or unqualified applicant pool, the job offer being declined by the selected candidate, etc. You will be notified by Human Resources if a position that you have applied for is cancelled. If the position is re-posted at a later date using a new job number, you will need to re-apply in order to be considered.
  • Application Withdrawn
    Your application is assigned this status when you withdraw your application from consideration. You can withdraw your application at any time. Once in this status you can not re-apply to the position.
  • Application Incomplete
    Your application is assigned this status when you have started completing the online application but you have not yet submitted your application. You will receive a confirmation number when your application has been successfully submitted and received by Human Resources. If the position is closed and your application is still incomplete, it will not be considered or reviewed.

I forgot my password, what do I do?

If you have already clicked the “I forgot my password” link on the login screen and were not successful at retrieving your account information, please email hris@foundation.sdsu.edu or call 619–594–4139. Please do not create a new account.


What Internet browser requirements are needed to apply online?

This site is best viewed in Internet Explorer 5.5 and above and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view uploaded documents. Users may experience difficulties accessing the system if cookies are not enabled.
