International employees are required to provide documents proving their eligibility of employment with SDSU Research Foundation based on their specific visa type. If the international employee currently does not have a social security number, visit the Social Security Administration (SSA) website for complete instructions on how to apply for one.
The visa documents and the Social Security receipt must be brought to the Human Resources Office when signing in as a new hire employee. The international employee will also need to visit the Payroll Office to ensure proper taxation based on their visa type and various other factors.
International employees that have previously been employed with SDSU Research Foundation are required to visit the Human Resources and Payroll Offices if their visa status has changed and/or expired since their last employment. Documents verifying the new visa status and/or the visa extension must be provided to the Human Resources and Payroll Offices.
Rehired international employees are required to visit SDSU Research Foundation Human Resources Office if they have not been paid in the current calendar year regardless of their visa status.
