Enhanced Dental Benefits For Delta Dental's PPO Plan Option Members:
An additional cleaning and oral exam for pregnant women: According to Delta Dental, “the benefits for pregnant women were added because, while it is not conclusively proven that periodontal disease directly leads to increased risk of lower–weight, pre–term babies, an extra cleaning and oral exam are both safe and beneficial to pregnant women's oral health.”
Dental implants are now covered: Delta explains that “the dental implant coverage is being included as a standard benefit to give patients more options for tooth replacement, based on studies showing implants to be a proven, viable, clinical alternative to bridges and dentures.”
