Important Message About Electronic Proposal Submissions

Subject: Electronic Proposal Submissions
As you know, the federal government has been transitioning to an all-electronic proposal submission system. Since the transition to Grants.gov, software unreliability and other unforeseen technical difficulties have occurred, and agencies like the Department of Education have rejected late proposals submitted by some institutions, even when the delay is due to Grants.gov malfunctions.
SDSU Research Foundation strongly urges faculty who are submitting proposals that require the use of Grants.gov (or any other electronic submission system) to have their final, completed proposals ready 5 days ahead of the deadline. Also, there are certain formatting requirements needed with Grants.gov, and early preparation will assist with a smooth submission process. As this window of time decreases, Sponsored Research Development staff cannot guarantee that a proposal will be successfully submitted and PIs run the risk of their proposals being rejected.
If you have an upcoming proposal requiring submission via Grants.gov, please contact your SDSURF development specialist as soon as possible (see listing below). If you are unsure of the development specialist assigned to you, please see the SRD staff list on the SDSU Research Foundation website:
