This Statement of Work covers the need for the services of a college student(s) to provide technical and/or analytical support in the field of Computer Science for the Measuring and Detecting Changes in Data (Machine Learning) project. The purpose of this project is to develop alogrithms for detecting and measuring changes in data of interest. Student will assist the work sponsor in developing, evaluating, analyzing and implementing the algorithms related to detecting and measuring changes in the data.
A Navy Contract position is available through the SDSU Research Foundation. Work involves performing data analysis at the Naval Laboratories in Old Town or Point Loma (SSCSD or NHRC). Student data analysts employed on the Navy Contract gain insight and work experience in a variety of laboratory research projects related to their major field.
Undergraduate and/or graduate student, Computer Science major, with desired coursework in the following areas, Alogrithms design, Statistics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, statistics etc.
Must be currently enrolled in a college in San Diego County. Minimum of 8 units for students. Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 units or enrolled in qualified full-time coursework (i.e. thesis or doctoral dissertation). Enrollment for audit or in extension does not count toward full time enrollment. Must be a U.S. Citizen (proof of citizenship must be produced at the time of hire - birth certificate, certificate of naturalization or a U.S. passport must be viewed - the document must be an original or certified copy).
Hours are flexible to accommodate class schedule. Work is generally performed Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Contractors normally average 20 hours per week when school is in session; 40 hours per week maximum during semester/quarter breaks or vacations. Actual work schedule is arranged between the Navy work sponsor and the student contractor.
