How do I get my time report?

Time reports are printed twice monthly and are sent to the location and individual agreed upon by your supervisor. This individual is responsible for distribution of your time report once received from the Payroll department.

What should I do if I've started working and have not received a time report yet?

First of all, check with your supervisor to determine whether or not your time report was received but hasn't been distributed to you yet. If your supervisor doesn't have your time report, contact SDSURF Human Resources at 619-594-4139 or email to hr@foundation.sdsu.edu to determine what outstanding paperwork is required in order for your time report to be issued.

When does my time report have to be received by payroll in order to get paid?

The time report due date is indicated on the upper right hand corner of your time report. The fully completed time report, signed by both employee and supervisor, must be in the Payroll department by this date.

What do I do if I lose my time report?

Duplicate time reports may be requested from the Human Resources department by completing the Duplicate Time Report Request Form. Refer to Duplicate Time Report Request and FAQ for additional information.

How do I complete my time report?

Each employee is appointed to an "employee class" that determines eligibility for such things as overtime pay, holidays, etc. Instructions for completion of your time report are specific to your assigned employee class. Refer to HR Time Reporting Instructions for specific information.

Do I have to do something special on my time report when there is a holiday?

Every employee is appointed to an "employee class" that determines eligibility for holiday pay. Refer to Sample Holiday Time Reports for information on how to complete your time report based on your employee class.

Who can I call if I have questions about how to complete my time report?

If you need assistance, contact the SDSURF Payroll department at 619-594-6971 or email to SDSURF Payroll.

What do I do if I logged hours incorrectly on a time report that has already been submitted to the Payroll department?

If you need to make a correction to log or reduce hours that were already submitted to Payroll, send an original memo to the Payroll department signed by you and your supervisor. Explain the specific days, hours affected, and reason for change. Attach a copy of the affected time report, if available. If you need additional assistance contact the Payroll department at 619-594-6971 or email to SDSURF Payroll.
