My grant or contract has a requirement that I spend a specific percentage of my award amount buying goods or services from small/disadvantaged/minority businesses. How do I locate these suppliers?
Do I have to use a small/disadvantaged/minority business when I can find the goods or services cheaper somewhere else?
There are many sources available to help you find these suppliers. The Small Business Utilization Directory is a list of suppliers that have previously been used by SDSURF. The directory has a brief description of the goods/services provided by the supplier as well as their supplier type, i.e. small, disadvantaged, minority, womanowned business, etc. You may also contact the purchasing department at 6195946891 or email SDSURF Purchasing for additional information and resources.
Check with your SR administrator if you are unsure of your grant/contract's small business utilization requirements. If required to purchase a certain percentage of goods/services by specific supplier type, you may not have a choice when it comes to selecting a supplier.
