The Sponsored Research Development office assists faculty and staff in the development of sponsored research and education projects. It is the pre-award unit of the SDSU Research Foundation and is the office that faculty should contact once a sponsor has been identified and a proposal is being developed.
Sponsored Research Development can assist faculty with reviewing and interpreting guidelines, budget preparation, editing and critiquing of proposals, completion of application forms, negotiation of awards with sponsors, contacting potential sponsors, obtaining university signatures and approvals, information about compliance with federally-mandated regulations, and submission of proposals.
The key to a successful proposal submission is early notification. As soon as you know of your plans to submit a proposal, please contact Sponsored Research Development so that the development specialist assigned to your college/department can assist you.
