Subject: New Electronic System – Personnel Appointment Management
We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of the new Electronic Personnel Action System (EPAS) in PI Profile. This new system replaces the paper Personnel Assignment Status Sheet. Starting May 1, 2017, principal investigators, project directors and staff with signature authority will be able to:
- request and approve changes to employee SDSURF appointments, such as changing funding sources, extending positions, and merit increases on-line
- easily query active employee positions with funding information and appointment end dates
- receive timely notification of action items and expiring employee appointments.
Several projects participated in a pilot rollout of EPAS and provided valuable feedback from the PI perspective, which was incorporated in the final design.
The system is designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate; however, those interested in training may register for a session here: EPAS TRAINING SESSIONS.
If you have questions or concerns regarding this new process, please let me know (email@example.com).
