4. Award Management (Post-Award)

Sponsored Research Administration (SRA)

The Sponsored Research Administration (SRA) department also known as "post-award," serves two primary roles:

  1. Providing support and assistance to faculty on the administration, compliance, and fiscal management of grants and contracts.
  2. Ensuring that funds are expended in accordance with the terms and conditions of the funding agency, SDSU Research Foundation policies/procedures, and SDSU and CSU regulations.

In addition, the SRA department is responsible for the administration of gift funds on behalf of The Campanile Foundation, SDSU campus and community programs, and Research Support Funds (SDSUid required).

Sponsored Research Administration typically assigns a grant specialist to each PI to provide support in managing all of their SDSU Research Foundation and The Campanile Foundation funds. This allows the grant specialist to have an overall picture of a PI’s financial resources and provides the PI with one individual to assist them in the management of their funds.
