Employment Verification

If you are an active or former employee of SDSU Research Foundation and are asked by a lender, organization, or agency to provide proof of your employment or income, please follow the guidelines below:

Policy Statement

San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSURF) respects the privacy of its employees and is committed to handling all requests for employment verification in accordance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Authorized Requests

To ensure consistency and reliability of data, Human Resources and Payroll are the only departments authorized to release employment verification information.

Written Consent

For certain requests, especially regarding compensation or personal data, written consent from the employee is required before disclosing any detailed employment information beyond basic verification of employment. This consent will be obtained via email, fax, or signed form.

Timeliness

Requests for employment verification will be processed within 5 to 7 business days from the date the request is received.

Confidentiality

In compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable privacy laws, all employment verification records will be maintained confidentially.

Limitations

SDSURF reserves the right to refuse to provide verification of employment for any employee. Additionally, employment information will not be disclosed in response to any request that is incomplete or lacks proper authorization.
