As part of the new hire process, you will be assigned a RedID, a unique identifier that is used throughout SDSU and SDSURF systems. You can find your RedID on your SDSU ID card or by querying the RedID kiosk: https://sunspot.sdsu.edu/pubred/alt_kiosk.main
Your AztecLink account synchronizes with your SDSU Google Apps account. Once you establish your AztecLink account in the SDSU AztecLink Identity Manager and create login credentials, the SDSU Google Apps will use your AztecLink account for authentication. Your e-mail ID (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org) will be used to access the SDSU/Google e-mail and other services.
Use AztecLink Identity Manager to claim your account, change your password and manage your AztecLink account. To provide enhanced security, your password will expire every 180 days (six months). You will receive an e-mail reminder about password expiration and changing your password.
SDSURF Policy prohibits the sharing of your password with anyone, including supervisors.
E-Mail & Calendar - SDSU Google
All active SDSU Research Foundation employees are eligible for an e-mail account in the Campus Google system. As part of the employee onboarding process, an account will be requested in your name. The day after you have completed your new hire paperwork, you will receive an email from the SDSU ETS helpdesk with a registration code to claim your account and detailed instructions on setting up a password and security questions. If you are a current or former SDSU student and already have an account you will be issued a different “work” e-email address so that you can easily manage personal and business communications. Additional information about SDSU Google services is available at http://ets.sdsu.edu/helpdesk/faqs.htm.
Once your account is active, you can login to the main Google mail interface at https://mail.google.com. Make sure to login with your full e-mail address and AztecLink password.
Additional information on accessing your e-mail account, including tips on using Outlook and Google's webclient are available on the Google Tips web page.
If you have any questions, please contact the Research Foundation Service Desk at 619-594-6931 or email@example.com.
NOTE: your new hire paperwork must be processed in SDSURF Human Resources before receiving an account. SDSURF Human Resources can be found on the 4th Floor of the Gateway building on SDSU campus. Human Resources can also be reached at 619-594-4139.
All new employees are automatically provided an SDSUid. After Human Resources has processed your new paperwork, you will receive an e-mail from firstname.lastname@example.org with a registration code and instructions on how to claim your account. SDSUid is your single identifier to securely access new campus IT services and can eventually become your single identifier to access all IT services, workstations/devices, and labs at SDSU. Password management is self-service and recoverable through a variety of options, all selected and managed by you. More information about SDSUid including how to manage your account and services available is available at http://it.sdsu.edu/sdsuid/.
SDSURF ID / Self-Service Center
As an active employee of SDSU Research Foundation or affiliated SDSU employee, you may be assigned an SDSURF ID to be used to access many SDSURF services (FileX encrypted file sharing, central staff network permissions, and more to come in the near future.) Instructions on how to enroll will be sent with your new account information. You can manage your account at https://selfservice.foundation.sdsu.edu.
